DISPATCHING AND THE TRANSPORT PROCESS

Transport order from a customer

Entering new transport orders into the system is quick. The customer details, desired schedule of the transport, pickup and delivery addresses and cargo are saved into the system. Customers also can have their own user accounts for LogiApp, which allows them to enter new transport orders themselves.

LogiApp also has interfaces to external systems for importing transport orders automatically.

Dispatching

A dispatcher schedules the transport, determines the route and selects a vehicle and driver for the transport. The software helps plan the route using the Google directions service. LogiApp route optimisation can be used to create the routes for delivery or pickup orders.

LogiApp has an easy-to-use visual calendar view for viewing the availability of the whole fleet at a single glance. The calendar view can be sorted by trucks, trailers or drivers. The length of the observed period can be changed to one week or three days, for example. It is also possible to save notes to the calendar. Transport tasks can be moved by dragging and dropping.

There can be tens or even hundreds of vehicles in the system. The vehicles and drivers can be grouped so that each dispatcher can see and work on his own group of vehicles and drivers only.

All transport information is stored in the system. The system contains transport data for some of our customers from a period of over ten years.

The dispatcher sends the transport tasks to the driver. LogiApp has several alternative solutions for the driver’s application.

  • Mobile application enables real-time communication between the office and the driver and is the preferred way of using LogiApp for drivers
  • The driver can also use LogiApp with a web browser
  • The transport tasks can also be sent to the driver via SMS

Navigation

The LogiApp mobile application has built-in navigation, which can help drivers especially with transport deliveries. The driver can use the navigation with an Android phone or tablet while driving the route, in which case there is no need for a separate navigator device. The driving route is already in the application, so the driver does not need to enter addresses manually.

Invoicing without delays

When a transport is completed, the driver creates a transport report in the system and the transport can be invoiced. The freight bill can be scanned with the mobile application, so there is no need to wait ;at the office until the paper copies of the freight bills are returned from the drivers for invoicing.

The invoices can be generated and printed out from LogiApp. The invoices can also be exported into an accounting system, from which the invoices can be printed or sent as e-invoices. The accounting system typically handles accounts receivables.
